Steve Leung Design Group (SLD) proudly introduces God of Teppanyaki – its latest restaurant design endeavour set in the prime location of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Surrounded by prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants, this 604 sqm gastronomic space unfolds a sophisticated interplay of dark shades and luminous accents married with sheer design simplicity, offering guests the utmost discretion in a contemporary Japanese setting.

- A prominent Mount Fuji backdrop creates the focal point at the sushi bar, transporting guests to one of the most iconic and sacred landmarks of Japan’s heritage. Reflecting the homonymous Japanese woodworking technique, geometric screens in delicate Kumiko-inspired patterns from adjacent small private dining rooms further reference the strong association with authentic Japanese culture.
Accommodating an increased demand for secluded privacy amid the pandemic, SLD curated a distinctively upscale ambience distinguished by generous space and neat aesthetics to fully experience the true enjoyment of “seizing the moment”. Spanning multiple private dining rooms to a sake bar, sushi bar, and wine and sake tasting room, elaborate partitions host small groups of 4 up to large groups of 24 guests featuring a thoughtful spatial design to allow dynamic and customized flows between different areas.
Drawing inspiration from the enchanting beauty of Japanese natural landscape, predominant design elements are integrated into the interiors: a striking Mount Fuji art backdrop, bespoke wallpapers and fabrics bearing traditional botanical patterns, and the abundance of timber and granite used throughout the entire venue, instantaneously bring the diners a vivid experience of authentic Japanese culture. Endowed with custom-made lighting arranged by renowned lighting master Tino Kwan, God of Teppanyaki resembles a glowing gem waiting to be discovered in the beating heart of the city.

- Creating a rich sense of depth and seamlessly connecting different restaurant areas, the signature bridge-inspired corridor in special metallic paint acts as a linear passage guiding diners through the space whilst ensuring seamless visual continuity with the rest of the environ.

- The one-of-a-kind horseshoe dining table is the dominant feature in each of the main private dining rooms. These custom-made tables provide a unique theatrical experience of chefs showcasing their culinary masterpieces, whilst encouraging a smoother interaction between patrons. A hidden sliding panel offers bespoke spatial fluidity by easily turning two separated 12-seat rooms into a spacious 24-seat setting.

- Modelled after Wagasa – traditional Japanese oil-paper umbrellas, spectacular ceiling lights float elegantly above the teppan tables, providing an engaging cinematic experience through perfect accent lighting.
