O’s Villa an Oasis of Elegance

March 19, 2024

Meyer House is located on a unique island along Singapore’s east coast, next to a one-hectare forest park. Famous for its garden house and positioned as “Nassim of the East”, its architecture and interior design were completed by WOHA Architects and Yabu Pushelberg. It is the first service flat to provide an independent, private elevator for each household in Singapore, and has won many international design awards since its construction. This project — O’s Villa is one of the houses which WEN DESIGN has put together for its interior decoration.

Here, the living room is connected to the balcony. Throughout, the use of a wood veneer ties the space wondrously together to create a sense of cohesiveness. Combining lush, fur seats, luxury and comfort are highlighted in this zen-like atmosphere.

Colours and furnishings are purposefully chosen to create a contemporary and detailed space rich in textures and character. A mix of textures and patterns converges beautifully, giving the space an artistic flair. An open layout integrates nature, bringing greenery into the interior. This fosters an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation and an interconnectedness between individuals and their living environments.

Well-designed furniture lends artistic qualities, while adding invigorating forms through the play of light and shadow. For instance, a minimalistic bookshelf adds interest with the use of different lines, colours and textures. In the living space, an open study has been designed beside the staircase, with the window in the back that overlooks the outdoor landscape. Hence, so that people can enjoy the study with different images during different moment of the day.

In the living area, a thoughtfully positioned study besides the staircase is bathed in natural light that streams in from a window framing the outdoor landscape. Throughout the day, the window offers changing lights, lending beauty to the study.

Artists Ran Yadong expresses his own understanding of landscape with freehand brushwork and unique emotion. His artwork offers a glimpse into his unique perspective on life, capturing its intricate beauty with unparalleled vigour and passion.

In the bedroom, soft materials are used for the sofa and fabrics to create a pleasant, calming effect. When night falls, the delicate texture of silk fabric reflects the light, releasing the fatigue of life under lamplight.

Throughout, the space is dressed with details. An elegant pink has been applied to the furniture and walls. Verpan lamps from Denmark increases the sense of spatial art with mild light, appealing to the child in all of us. In addition, these lights offer a relaxing atmosphere for reading before sleep.

True wealth is spiritual freedom and inner peace. WEN Designs emphasises the harmony between humanity and nature; the blurring of internal and external so that life and nature are not divided into boundaries; simple tones create an essence of the minimalist environment.
