Quarlton Wallpaper: A Stunning Depiction of Nature Tranquillity

June 20, 2023

Woodchip & Magnolia, the luxury British design house, has just released a stunning new mural called “Quarlton”. This painterly mural is inspired by the old township close to their home in Darwen, dating back to 1301. The scenery depicted in the mural is tied closely to the rugged landscape of the West Pennine Moors, where Quarlton resided. The natural tones and moody skies bring a sense of tranquillity and being at one with nature, capturing a snapshot of natural history that transcends time and space.

The mural is available in four dreamy colourways: forest green, blush pink, mono, and ink blue. Each colourway reflects the beauty and serenity of the natural world in its own unique way. Forest green evokes the lushness of a verdant forest, while blush pink brings a touch of warmth and femininity. Mono offers a sleek and sophisticated look, and ink blue captures the mysterious and calming qualities of the ocean.

Woodchip & Magnolia was founded by Nina Tarnowski and her husband Paul in 2016. Nina’s passion for wallpaper design began at the age of five, and she pursued it with a degree in Surface Pattern and Textile Design from Leeds College of Art in 1997. Nina’s creativity, combined with Paul’s technical know-how, allows them to have complete control over the design and printing process from start to finish.

The brand prides itself on putting nature firmly at the heart of the business, sourcing much of its inspiration from the natural world in Lancashire. Woodchip & Magnolia produces all its own wallpaper and fabrics in-house to remain as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. In addition to its dazzling in-house designs, the brand collaborates with leading creatives, including fashion designer Pearl Lowe and Fearne Cotton.

Overall, the Quarlton mural by Woodchip & Magnolia is a stunning representation of the brand’s commitment to nature and sustainability, as well as its passion for bold and beautiful designs.
